What is Underlined in Red

This comes from an 1870s era poor farm register in Illinois. I'm trying to read the name above the red line as that's the person in whose care a relative was left.

PS I would then look in census records, tax records and the like to find names similar to this guess.

  3. It looks like E. H. Brownson to me, or possibly E. H. Brownsox, which would be much funnier.

  5. I'm with Brounsen or Brounson. Though the u could be a w. Don't we all wish they had typed back then? It's worse than reading doctor's scribble sometimes!
