Who Is It In 1865?
What name is sixth from the bottom on this image (between William [or maybe Sallesman?] and J. W.)? This comes from Keithsburg, Mercer County, Illinois, in the 1865 Illinois State Census and those who wish to see the rest of the page can do so here.
I don't see a William (looks like "Sallimin" Solomon? to me) but above J. W. Stevens is Syrus Low. I think the census taker made their initial S two different ways. Further down the page is an S the same as the one in "Sallimin" that looks like "Samcen." Maybe Biblical "S" is different than regular "S"? :)
