What's That Inventory Item?
What's the inventory item between the red dots on the image above (click on it to enlarge)? This comes from an estate inventory in Davenport, Iowa, in the 1860s.
1 frame building on leased ground on Rockingham [---]
I'm not quite certain what the writer actually wrote, but (based upon the location), I'm surmising that it was road/street or something to that effect.
"1 frame building on level ground on resting tar back" Maybe?
